Ever since the Vertex 4 series launched earlier this year, OCZ has been trying to redeem itself when it comes to reliability. The manufacturer was heavily criticized because of  firmware issues, which ultimately caused the Vertex 2 and Vertex 3 SSDs to become known as unreliable drives. OCZ has since then changed from SandForce controllers to its own Indilinx chips.
